A nostalgic vivid sketch which brings back precious childhood memories by the prominent Russian artist
Tegin Dmitry Kapitonovich (1914–1988), an outstanding Moscow artist, a gifted colorist. Graduated from Surikov Moscow State Art Institute with the famous Samarkand graduation class of S. Gerasimov (1942). As a member of the brigade of B. Ioganson, Tegin participated in creation of the painting “Lenin’s Speech at the 3rd Congress of the Komsomol” (1950, State Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow), for which he was awarded the Stalin Prize, as a member of the artists’ team (1951). Tegin’s solo exhibitions were held in Moscow in 1946, 1947, and 1950. In 1960s, travelling around the country (mainly the Baltic Region), he painted wonderful landscape series. The paintings by Tegin are kept in State Tretyakov Gallery and in many regional museums
