Semenov Valeriy Semenovich (1928-2001)
Prominent Chuvashi artist. He was born in the village Shorchekasy of the Cheboksarsky District. He studied at the Cheboksary art school (1944-1948), at the Kiev art Institute (1948-1949), at the graphic art faculty of the Chuvashi pedagogical Institute named after I. Yakovlev (1964-1969). A member of the Union of Artists of the USSR since 1950. Merited artist of the Chuvashia (1978).
The pure plein air river scene on Volga featuring traditional boat station, steam barge and a few moored boats. The painting is signed and dated in front (lower left corner). It also inscrobed in Russian and English verso giving more detailed info about the painting and also a short artist's bio. This work is framed to a very high standard into an elegant wide dark wooden frame . Size in frame 60x75 cm. Comes with the certificate of authenticity from Leonid Shishkin Gallery.
