Prominent Russian artist. Active in Leningrad. Born on Zlatoust, Ural. He studied at the Leningrad Secondary Art School, graduated in 1941. Participant of the WWII. He studied at the Leningrad Institute of painting, sculpture and architecture named after I. E. Repin at the faculty of painting (1946-1952). Took part in exhibitions since 1939; a member of the Leningrad Union of Artists since 1952. A member Of the Studio of military artists named after M. Grekov in the Leningrad group of marinists (1954-1963). Babkov paricipated in the exhibitions of Leningrad artists in Japan, France, Germany, Sweden, USA. They can be found at private collections in Russia and abroad.
