"Little Ludmila", 1962, Oil on Canvas  48x38 cm, signed in Russian in the lower left corrner, it also has inscriptions and numbers as well as the stamp of Russia's Ministry of Culture confirming that the painting was granted a permission to be taken out of the country.

Chernov Pavel Afanasievich (1918-2003)

Well known Russian artist. Active in the city of kemerovo. Born in the village of Plehany Urzhum district, Kirov oblast, moved to Kemerovo in 1921. Studied at the school of young talents at the all-Russian Academy of arts in St. Petersburg (1936-1939), at the faculty of easel painting at the Repin Institute of painting, sculpture and architecture (1945-1951); after graduation returned to Kemerovo. Participant of the WWII. Since 1953 – a member of Artists’ Union. Honored artist of the RSFSR (1984), People's Artist of the Russian Federation.
