KORZHEVSKY BORIS GEORGIEVICH (1927-2004)

Korzhevsky was a talented Moscow painter; his creativity is distinguished by bright temperament and high culture of coloristic language. He was an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation and a Corresponding Member of the Academy of Arts of Russia. He graduated from Surikov State Art Institute in Moscow, where he studied at the workshops of I. Grabar and P. Konchalovsky. In 1952–1954 Korzhevsky worked in the group which restored “The Defense of Sevastopol” panorama. His works have been acquired by the State Tretyakov Gallery, major regional museums in Russia and CIS countries.

  • The bright impressionist scene created during the artist's trip  to Cuba in 1963. The painting is  tastefully framed  into a qualitry black wooden frame. Size in frame 67x43cm.  The artist's monogram is lower right, the painting also bears some incriptions in Russian verso. The artist conveys his deep sympathy to a small family drawn with their new house at the background. The work comes with the certificate of authenticity from Leonid Shishkin Gallery.
