Colourful and bold portrait of a girl in a blue dress by

Nikolay Nikolaevich Gorlov (1917-1988) Russian artist-impressionist, a master of colorful still lives and landscapes. In 1938–1942 studied at Moscow Art Institute under the tutelage of S. Gerasimov and B. Ioganson. From 1936  was a permanent participant of art exhibitions. He gained his official recognition for his works on the history and revolution topic, such as: “Zimny is Seized” (1947), “Hostile Whirlwinds” (1961), and “For the Power of Soviets” (1967) and historical and biographical paintings from the lives of the Russian writers. In 1963 his first solo exhibition was held in Omsk. His works are housed in Moscow and regional museums of ex-USSR.

  • This work is probably a portrait of the artist's granddaughter.  Bears the artist's signature on the back. Very good condition. Currently unframed but may be framed on request (extra charge).
